This catalogue was published, in cooperation with James Corcoran, Los Angeles, on the occasion of John Berggruen Gallery's exhibition of the same name and showcases a remarkable selection of drawings by Los Angeles artist, Edward Ruscha (March 16 – April 29, 2000).

The works illlustrated range in date from 1965 to 1981 and display Ruscha's unique juxtaposition of words and visual images as well as his superb draftsmanship. These drawings include pastel, watercolor, graphite and, the unconventional, gunpowder on paper.

Edward Ruscha: Powders, Pressures, and Other Drawings features a preface by John Berggruen as well as an interview conducted with Dennis Hopper.
