Wayne Thiebaud

Wayne Thiebaud, published on the occasion of the eponymous exhibition, coincides with the artist's 100th birthday and the gallery's 50th anniversary. The exhibition includes more than 60 works over six decades by the celebrated artist, including paintings, unique works on paper, and prints. This exhibition catalogue features an introduction written by John Berggruen, and an essay written by Alexandra Wolfe, who has worked for the New York Observer, The Wall Street Journal and the Condé Nast Portfolio. This catalogue is fully illustrated, and includes detailed images of several works, as well as photographs of the artist with John and Gretchen Berggruen. The catalogue also includes Wayne Thiebaud's biography and selected bibliography. This catalogue and exhibition are dedicated in memory to Gretchen Berggruen (1945-2020).
