The buzziest exhibition openings, mural unveilings, artist talks, and more.

The third SF Art Week kicks off this weekend with events organized by museums, galleries, and arts organizations across the Bay Area and beyond, from Petaluma down to Santa Cruz.

The party coincides with FOG Design+Art Fair at Fort Mason, where galleries and exhibitors from around the world present work from their artist rosters. Think of it as the Bay Area’s version of Art Basel, attracting international institutions like Perrotin and David Zwirner, as well as local legends Berggruen Gallery and Jessica Silverman.

There’s no shortage of work to explore during this 10-day celebration of the local art scene — deciding where to go is the hard part. We sorted through dozens of SFAW events and picked the ones we’re most excited about.

FOG Design + Art Fair

The most dedicated collectors and international visitors will be perusing the booths at Fort Mason’s Fog Fair and shopping from the marketplace and pop-ups featuring San Francisco stores Park Life and William Stout Architectural Books. The three-day fair also has an impressive lineup of artist and industry talks, included with admission: Jeffrey Gibson, Suzanne Jackson, Christie’s, the Eames Institute, and more.
